Day 42: Terrace Bay to Marathon

Friday, July 21st
Total kilometers: 84km

We decided to take the afternoon off, as realistically it will take another 4 days to get to Sault-Ste-Marie. It will be nice to make dinner and get to bed early.

The day again was beautiful but some good hills to get over, and I have only heard that it gets worse. I am thoroughly enjoying it though I must say.

Last night it was really cold for some reason, and getting up was really hard this morning. The trees and rock faces are definately helping to keep us cooler during the day than the prairies, which we are so grateful for.

Looking forward to checking out White River tomorrow (home of Winnie the Pooh!)

HI Team

keep the updates coming - we keep sending the blog link to everyone we can think of who might be pleased to donate to your efforts and we are keeping a scrapbook of your blog and pics here at the resort and maps on the wall. It definitely generates a lot of discussion and hopefully some donations as well.

I remember driving our diesel VW van along that road in Ontario and all I remember was the uphills were short but steep. Hang in there it will get better.

Hi Superteam!!! Way to go!!! So glad to hear the hills of ONtario have been a welcome break from the flatness of the praries! How are the mozies? What an awesome trip you are having. christine, how are your wrists? How's everyone else? holding up okay? How are your seats? I'll bet they are toughened up well and truly by now. We're having a heat wave here, breaking records. Hope it's been cooler for you! As you head east it will get more humid and if it's hot, it will make for some very sticky hot rides!! Keep up the good work!!! Happy Pedalling! love you all, love mom/rita

Hi Jennica and team! We are back in town, soon to leave again. We have been spending all of our time with my dad and the rest of my family. We are off to Fairmont and will be away until mid-August. This time Paul will be manning the fort, with much to do at home. The kids are excited about taking the same way to Fairmont that you did, so they can experience where you cycled. Somehow, going to Fairmont will now have an even more special life of it's own. We were home long enough to listen to the wonderful message that you sent on our answering machine. Thank-you so much for remembering Alayna's birthday again this year. It was very special to hear your warm wishes and your voice. Much love and although we won't be on-line while we are away, you guys will definitely be in our hearts and minds. We love you....keep on treking! With love and prayers, Tamara and family
