THE TEAM: Get ready Canada!

Alisha Mills

Alisha Mills recently completed her first year of Medical School at UBC and has a sincere passion for... well everything! She loves the outdoors, her friends and family and she is constantly working to make positive changes in the lives of everyone around her. As a cycling commuter living in the city, Alisha appreciates the need for clean air and as a medical student she is always reminded of the detriments of unhealthy living. “That’s why I am taking on the huge challenge such as cycling the entire country and fundraising for such a great cause. I feel that through challenging myself, I can make a difference in the lives of others, even as only one person.” Alisha, is excited about the team's partnership with the Canadian Lung Association and is anxiously awaiting the June 10th departure date!

Jennica Rawstron

Jennica Rawstron recently completed her second year of studies in Kinesiology at Simon Fraser University. She is not one to limit her options, this past semester Jennica completed a specialized undergraduate dialogue program on the theme of social enterprise for sustainable community development. Her interest in sustainability first materialized during her Canada World Youth program, where she had the opportunity to volunteer both in Quebec and Burkina Faso, West Africa. From this experience, her passions of health and education have branched off to include sustainability, both personally and globally. Through her words and actions, Jennica inspires all those around her to 'be the change you wish to see in the world'. Jennica is excited to fulfill her dream of cycling across Canada demonstrating alternative transportation to advocate for clean air and health.

Cameron Cunningham

Cameron is just finishing off his Honours degree in Kinesiology from SFU will continue his education at the University of Calgary this fall working on a Masters in Neuroscience.
He is passionate about health, wellness and physical activity. As a Health Educator on campus through his undergraduate degree and a integral member of the Triathlon Team, Cameron believes in empowering people with knowledge to maximize their own health.
He has been a recreational cyclist since his tricycling days on the back porch. Cameron is extremely excited about seeing our beautiful country and singing the national anthem to keep himself going for 70 days on the road.

Klara Schwab

Klara completed her degree in Kinesiology in August 2005. As a triathlete/duathlete, snowshoe guide, dancer and avid outdoors enthusiast-Klara Schwab takes full advantage of all that BC has to offer. Klara is passionate about promoting health and wellness to others. With her education and work experience Klara is aware of the difference one person can make in the lives of many. With over 3 million Canadians suffering from serious respiratory diseases and the instances of childhood asthma increasing as the decades go by something needs to be done. "I am cycling the country to be part of a solution,so that every breath I take can make a difference in the life of another".

Currently she is applying to the Pole to Pole Leadership Institute for another remarkable human powered journey commencing later this year. Christine Stables

Christine recently finished her honours degree in Biology at SFU, and will be continuing her studies in medical school at UBC this fall.
Though Christine is relatively new to cycling, her energy and eagerness to embark on this adventure have made her a quick study!
The physical and mental well-being of all is a focus for Christine; she spends many hours volunteering in the community, working as a lifeguard, and doing scientific research in biology.
Now on to the Atlantic!
