Our first day - June 10, 2006
Today for all of us was an early start with little sleep. Many of us stayed up late packing and trying to get ready for the remainder of the summer and woke up early to get to Vanier Park on time. After meeting the team, getting tons of pictures taken and starting with our tires in the Pacific, we were ready to go. It took a while to get out of the city as we were joined by many guest cyclists who wished us well and wanted to see us off. As well, we started making new friends along the way!

A long day - a relatively flat day but a long day. We were worried we wouldn't make it all the way to Hope but we did!!! The air was clear and we were definitely excited to be on our bikes. With the aid of Alisha's parents acting as sherpas and carrying all our gear, we were able to achieve the goal of making it to Hope.

Tomorrow, we will try to make it to Manning (and perhaps beyond?). It will be a challenging day with many climbs but we luckily have our sherpas for one more day.

Thanks to everyone who came out this morning to wish us well and see us off. In case you're curious, apparently we were on the news around lunchtime and perhaps at dinner so keep your eyes peeled to CTV and Global and see if you see us!
